The concert “The musical offering to Billy Holiday”
A vocalist Yuliya Kasyan and the ensemble of David Goloshchekin perform the classics of female jazz in modern versions. They play songs of Billy Holiday. The songs of Billy Holiday are a real challenge for a vocalist: the singer sang tender love ballads, as a rule, with a little bit bitterness and disappointment.

“Music of Russia and China” Festival
This festival is an evening of rapprochement, comparisons and contrasts. The program includes music by composers from Russia and China. It’s a chance to listen to the classics of the two countries in live. And also it’s an opportunity to get acquainted with the ancient musical tradition of the East and hear traditional Chinese instruments. The famous Chinese baritone Jiang Shangzhun will perform in the festival. This festival brings a piece of the East to St. Petersburg.

Francophonie Films Festival
This festival is a part of culture festival Francophonie in St. Petersburg. Francophonie is a joint project of the Consulate General of France, Consulate General of Switzerland, Consulate General of Belgium, Consulate General of Cyprus, the Canadian Embassy, Wallonie-Bruxelles International organization and the French Institute in St. Petersburg. Several modern films produced by the countries participating in this project are shown in original (French) language with Russian subtitles in Rodina cinema center.

The concert “Towards the North Aurora”
A scene of the club A2 turns into a theater hall for one evening thanks to creative imagination of maestro Alexander Kantorov. The orchestra Classica under the direction of Renowned Artist of Russia Alexander Kantorov performs the masterpieces of ballet music. The conductor plays a role of narrator who tells little-known stories from lives of outstanding composers.

The performance “Once in Elsinore. Hamlet” at the Masterskaya Theater
This performance based on Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” is staged by the St. Petersburg director-experimenter Roman Gabriya. He reconsiders the tragic events that took place in the castle of Elsinore. Shakespeare’s tragedy is transferred to the realities of the 1950s, time of birth of rock’n’roll and a new stage in the never-ending conflict of fathers and children. You will see a European society of the mid-XX century and a large family clan with criminal intentions. The performance lasts 3 hours with one intermission.

The ballet “Multifaceted. Forms of silence and emptiness” at Mikhailovsky Theater
It’s one of the most popular works of the Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato on the music of Bach which is performed by an orchestra. This ballet is a unique choreographic work filled with interesting metaphors, complicated dance movements and plastic techniques. It’s accompanied by live music performed by orchestra. Moreover Nacho Duato acts as an actor on the stage.

The performance “The Last Clown on the Earth” in Erarta
It’s a new work of the legendary theater DEREVO. This performance elevates the image of Clown to the rank of a cosmic figure. St. Petersburg theater DEREVO is one of the first avant-garde troupes of Russia. Physical theater and pantomime, Japanese buto and classical comedy del-arte, romance of the wandering circus and characteristic images in the spirit of Brueghel are in its performances. Any of this theater’s work is always an experiment. The director and actor of the key role in the play is Anton Adasinsky.

The concert of the group Mumiy Troll
The band celebrates the 20th anniversary of the canonical album named “Morskaya”, from which the victorious procession of this rock music band began. Once this album was sold in a few million copies, setting a record, and had a huge impact on the development of all Russian rock music. Almost all the songs from the album became hits and for years didn’t leave the radio stations. Even now the songs from the album “Morskaya” sound actual.

The ballet “Rodin”
It’s a two-act ballet of Boris Eifman on the music of Ravel, Saint-Saëns and Masné. This performance tells us about the drama of Camille Claudel, who was a student, lover and muse of Rodin for 15 years. The action of the ballet happens in the psychiatric hospital, in which Claudel spent the last 30 years of her life, recalling the times when she and Rodin created masterpieces side by side. The choreographer seeks to find the ideal plastic embodiment of that volcanic energy, passion and despair that imbued the works of Rodin and Claudel.

“The Most Beloved” mono performance of Konstantin Raikin
This performance unites the high poetry of various famous authors and interesting moments from the biography of the Russian actor. The concert Show Opera
The international project Show Opera unites famous arias and romances performed by world-class artists with grandiose multimedia decorations. The exhibition “Victor Borisov-Musatov and masters of Blue Rose society”
The exhibition showcases the works of symbolist artist Viktor Borisov-Musatov, who explores the noble estates and their inhabitants. Also paintings of Pavel Kuznetsov, Sergei Sudeikin, Peter Utkin, Nikolai Krymov, Peter Bromirskyi and other artists who were members of Blue Rose society are featured in Mikhailovsky Castle.

The exhibition “In overcoming the gravity” of the artist Sergei Mikhankov
The style of Sergei Mikhankov conceptually echoes the art of modern metamodernism, in particular, English remodernism and stakism. The paintings of Mikhankov are a window into the unknown, into some new mythology, often resembling iconography if it could exist in some parallel, artistic and dreaming universes. Some words and letters of languages that never existed often intertwine in his paintings and strange archaeological artifacts refer to the fabulous past or the unknown future.

The exhibition “Konstantin Somov. Painting and Graphics”
The exhibition explores all the secrets of the courtly life of the visitors of balls and masquerades of the XVIII century. The artist’s paintings breathe modernity, but the portraits of contemporaries seem to have been transferred to the past. The portraits of Alexander Blok and Sergei Rachmaninov, painting “A Sleeping Young Woman”, and illustrations to “The Book of the Marquise” are the most famous works of Konstantin Somov.

The exhibition “About life and death” of the artist Timur Musayev-Kagan
The exhibition is structurally divided into two large sections. The first section includes the objects from the “Refuge. Cement cards”, the second – works from the “Mortido” series. The artist depicts the opposition and interdependence of the two main mental constants of human: libido and mortido. The section “Refuge. Cement cards” showcases multi-layered icons, whose symbolism reflects the sense of youth, passion and mystery through the transmission of images of popular culture. The“Mortido” series of works shows a passion of self-destruction and the author’s interest in the issues of thanatology. Passion and suffering, pain and pleasure, exclusive and consumer goods, as well as reflections on life and death are explored in this exhibition.

The Moscow director Dmitry Petrun stages a magic performance for young spectators. This performance tells us about incredible adventures in the world where dragons fly and miracles happen. This is a story about two dragon hunters, Oscar and Ivar, who fall into difficult and often funny situations, but with the help of the girl named Adele they can get out of problem situations.

The performance “Deniska’s Stories” at Bryantsev Youth Theatre
It’s based on Victor Dragunsky’s book. Ksenia Dragunskaya, the writer’s daughter and a writer and playwright, staged this performance. The play “Deniska’s Stories” is a whole world of sincere, simple, funny and at the same time instructive stories. The main character is a grown-up boy named Deniska. You will meet with the grown-up characters of these stories and remember a lot of comical situations which Deniska got into. The performance lasts 2 hours 20 minutes with one intermission.

The exhibition of the living butterflies garden “Mindo”
“Mindo” is a world of tropical forests. Its exhibition includes different types of butterflies. The White Admiral, the largest Russian butterfly, Amazonian butterflies such as Owl Kaligo with snake ornament and ultramarine Blue Morpho and many more residents from the different places of the planet. Also turtles and lizards, newts and spurge frogs, Chilean squirrels and a long-eared Asian owl, guinea pigs and many other inhabitants from different continents live in the garden “Mindo”.

The ballet “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky Ballet Theater
“The Nutcracker” is one of Tchaikovsky’s most interesting and great ballets. This ballet is a chamber interpretation on a small stage. Despite the lack of grandiose decorations, the scenography of the performance is great and makes you look at the scene intently. The entertainment part is sacrificed to chamber one, which, perhaps, has own benefits: young viewers will be able to fully concentrate on the plot development.

The interactive performances and workshops in “Territoria teatra” place
“Territoria teatra” invites children to get acquainted with the acting profession and theater in a playful form. Young visitors will perform a play for parents, create a show of light, act as magicians, fencers and ballet dancers, see the theaters of different countries of the world and get acquainted with foreign artists. Different programs are created for different ages of participants. Entrance is free for adults, and if they want they will be in the café area, watching the children, helping them to put on costumes and watching the plays created by the children.
