Gamma Festival 2017

It’s St. Petersburg, baby! Night jazz performance
It’s a musical performance. The plot tells you about a writer who fell into a love triangle. A simple solution whom to choose turns into unusual twists of fate, incidents and sleepless nights. This musical production is dedicated to the white nights of St. Petersburg. The jazzman Billy Novak performs along with the city’s best musicians in this performance.

Anna Karenina, ballet
It’s a ballet of the choreographer Alexei Ratmansky on the music of the composer Rodion Shchedrin. The play is based on the same name work of Leo Tolstoy. It’s not the traditional version of the famous ballet, where the main part was performed by Maya Plisetskaya. But Ratmansky kept the general atmosphere. The fate and portents are the main themes of this performance.

Life and destiny, performance
It’s the famous stage production of the director Lev Dodin based on the work of Grossman. The plot tells you about a scientist who lives in a totalitarian state. The play touches different topics: how to exist in totalitarian society and cope with the world catastrophe, which creeps up in the form of World War II and Nazism. The director shows not the global consequences of such events, but small, human catastrophes.

Concert of Imagine Dragons
The famous American indie rock band Imagine Dragons visits in St. Petersburg. Nefertari and the Valley of the Tsars, exhibition
Don’t miss a chance to visit an exhibition where the collection of the Egyptian Museum in Turin will be presented! Its main theme is the period of the New Kingdom. The items from the tomb of Queen Nefertari, the wife of Ramses II, are in the center of this exhibition. They were found in the XX century in the Valley of the Kings. Vasily Vereshchagin. To the 175th anniversary of his birth, exhibition
This exhibition showcases 220 paintings created by the master of battle painting and an ethnographic artist. Vereshchagin was a traveler who visited the Russian North, the Caucasus, the Balkans, Central Asia, Japan, Palestine, and India. His paintings reflect not only life in these places, but also the artist’s own impressions. The exhibition includes paintings from the collections of the main national Russian museums.

Moomin-troll and the wizard’s hat, performance
It’s a puppet show based on the fairytales of the Swedish writer Tove Jansson. You will know more about the adventures of lovely Moomin-Trolls and their friends. The performances of this theater are interactive, and the audience can participate in what’s happening on the stage. Moomin-troll and the wizard’s hat is also interactive performance. It’s intended for children 4–10 years old.
