Hostels in St.Petersburg Russia

Hostels are getting more and more popular every year.

This type of accommodation is preferred by young people. School and university students create a very friendly, cheerful, relaxed, and sociable atmosphere.

In summer you can stay in a Hostel for 500 – 1300 RUB (12 – 33 EUR) depending on the type of the room and from October to April it is a little cheaper – from 400 to 900 RUB (10 – 15 EUR).

What stands for a hostel?

Hostels provide budget-oriented accommodation in the center of the city where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed in a room for 2-12 people with shared kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Rooms tend to appear small and plain.

To make your stay comfortable and enjoyable they offer a lot of extra services: breakfast, linen, towels, iron, hair dryer, washing machine, safe deposit box, luggage room, board games and books, laptop, internet access, Wi-Fi, excursions, bike rental, etc.

As well as in Europe, hostels are often made on the basis of multiroom apartments, they can accommodate only 15-20 guests, but offer a wonderful view on the Nevsky prospect or Dvortsovaya square (the main street and square of St. Petersburg).

Select a hostel carefully, prices don’t really vary, but the quality does. Interior might be arranged in clean European style or it might be an apartment hastily converted into a hostel.

To make your vacation pleasant, we offer some advices in hostel search.

First of all, carefully choose the location. Make sure it is close to the subway – very interesting places are sometimes far from the center.

Mind the size of the room if you don’t want to live in an overcrowded place.

Pick out a hostel with visa support service, to simplify the procedure of applying for a Russian visa.

24-hours reception is a good advantage for a hostel, because you never know how long a sightseeing walk takes.

If the hostel is located not on the first floor and a 5-store walk with your luggage is not your dream, check out the availability of an elevator.

Pay attention to the number of bathrooms, your comfort fully relies on it.

To keep your values secure, look for a place with a safe at the reception desk or a lockable closet in the room.

And of course look for IYHF and RYHA signs on the hostel website, they show compliance with international and Russian standards.

You can book your accommodation directly on the website of the hostel or on the mentioned below webpages.

If you are planning a trip in summer, book your accommodation in advance, otherwise you may end up with nothing.
