Jewelry Festival “Faberge Heritage”

The opera “Eugene Onegin” staged by St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory

The opera “Eugene Onegin” directed by Honored Artist of Russia, Alexei Stepaniuc united the works of two geniuses, who lived in one century: music of Tchaikovsky and novel in verse of Alexander Pushkin. The peculiarity of this opera is that it’s built around Tatiana’s letter scene, complex and impressive scene.

The concert in the framework of “Music star” festival

Traditional St. Petersburg festival “Music star” includes several concerts. Jazz performance “1900”

The performance “1900” is based on the play of Alessandro Barrick. The main character is a musician living on the ship. Earlier a film “The Legend of the Pianist” was based on the plot of this play. Now St. Petersburg musicians perform their own interpretation of the story on the stage of the Jazz Philharmonic hall.

The Ballet “Notre Dame de Paris” directed by Theatre “Astana Opera”

The theatre “Astana Opera” performs the most famous ballets of the great Roland Petit under accompaniment of music by Maurice Jarre at the Mariinsky theater. The world premiere took place in 1965 in Paris and was staged by choreographer Roland Petit. This performance is staged by choreographer Luigi Bonino, assistant and friend of Petit. Yves Saint Laurent developed costumes for the Paris premiere in 1965, and now the eminent designer Philippe Beano made their original versions.

The performance “The Raven” at Alexandrinsky Theatre

This performance based on the play of Carlo Gozzi is directed by Nicholas Roshchin. You can see implausible stories about witches and ogres, enchanted princesses and magical ravens. “The Raven” by Roshinsky is the apotheosis of postmodernism, a mockery of all the “cultural heritage” and “brilliant masterpieces” which are so famous and staged so many times. Renowned Artist of Russia Viktor Smirnov, Honored Artist Elena Nemzer, Tikhon Zhiznevsky, Valentin Zakharov and others play in this performance.

The Concert “Silver flutes. Clarinet Evening”

This concert includes music of composers of different eras under accompaniment of the Symphony orchestra. Concerto for Clarinet by Stamitz and Weber, Rhapsody by Claude Debussy, a concerto for bass clarinet by Todd Goodman, “Song of Songs” by Igor Druch and aria Sextus from Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito” opera are performed on the stage of the Concert hall of the Mariinsky Theater. Clarinetists of Mariinsky Theater Orchestra and winner of international competitions, opera soloist Ekaterina Sergeyeva, perform solo parts.

The exhibition includes the paintings of participants of the competition “The Muse should work”. This puppet show tells that you don’t have to be a superhero to do good things and real deeds. Fantastic saga is intended for children over 8 years.

The Performance “Lenka Panteleyev” at the Bryantsev Youth Theatre

The Performance “Lenka Panteleyev” is an attempt of directors, Maxim Didenko and Nikolai Dreyden, to rethink the St. Petersburg mythology. This performance is a stylish musical. The plot is a real story of 20-year-old bandit and robber Leonid Panteleyev, who became an urban legend thanks to scandals and speculations. For the directors of the performance Lenka is a hero and fighter who dared to refuse of traditional life basics, and deny the possibility of a compromise with society. This play won the “Musical Heart of Theatre” in 2012, was nominated for “Breakthrough” prize, “Golden Soffit” and “Golden Mask”. It’s intended for an audience over 16 years old.

The Ballet “A Christmas Carol” at the Mikhailovsky Theater

This ballet is staged by Honored Artist of Russia, a young dancer Ivan Vasiliev. It’s based on the novel of Charles Dickens. This is the most common English story about Christmas. It tells about the miser Scrooge, who meets three Spirits on Christmas Eve. Ivan Vasiliev combines the choreography with the magic music of Tchaikovsky. The ballet’s intended for an audience over 6 years old.

The performance “Dolls and clowns” at the St. Petersburg Demmeni Marionette Theatre

This performance is a prototype of the show, staged almost 100 years ago by the founder of the theater, the famous puppeteer Eugene Demmeni. The author of the updated version of the play is a student of Demmeni, Honored Artist of Russia, Nikita Ohochinsky. He worked on this performance with the chief director of the theater Eduard Gaidai. This performance is a musical. There are also a lot of real circus numbers which are performed by dolls in this show.
